Thumb Suckers
Ever since he was a tiny baby, Hyrum has been a thumb sucker. But, he's not your normal thumb sucker. Whenever he sucks his thumb, he HAS to use his other hand to play with his ear. If he has a toy in the other hand, he just holds the toy up to his ear. It's not uncommon to see Hyrum walking around the house like this:

Mr. Independent
Hyrum is growing up so fast! He recently discovered independence, and there's no turning back. Some of his new-found freedoms include brushing his own teeth, cleaning up his own toys, and feeding himself with a spoon. And by "feeding himself" I mean holding the spoon in one hand while he stuffs his face with the other hand. I like that he wants to feed himself, but it require A LOT of patience when he sits there eating rice one single grain at a time. Hopefully he soon realizes how much faster it is to actually use the spoon and not just hold it. It's a pretty messy business letting him feed himself, but he loves it:
He's also started to keep his shoes on! It's a miracle. He figured out that when he has socks and shoes on we usually go outside. And he LOVES to be outside. So now when we put his shoes on him, he heads straight for the door. And don't even think about carrying him once he's outside. His screams of protest let you know he can walk outside just fine, thank you very much.
Here's a picture of the boys in their matching Sunday ties:
