One Year Ago Today

So, it's already the end of August. Is it just me or is this year really flying by? A lot has happened in the past year--it's definitely been a year of change. One year ago today Dan and I got engaged. While I knew that it was coming, he did a great job of surprising me and making it a special, memorable event.

In the short twelve months since then we've planned a wedding, got married in the Bountiful temple, graduated from BYU, and are now expecting our first baby. I love being married to my best friend. I'm excited about our future and look forward to all the years that lie ahead of us. Thanks for a great year Dan! I love you!

The month in review...

So, it's been a while. A long while. A very long while. We've officially slacked off but hope this post will give you an idea of what we've been up to this summer. It'd be hard to give details about everything (I tend to be a bit forgetful lately....I guess I can blame it on the pregnancy) so I'll just hit the highlights.

This is at Big Jud's in Idaho. We stopped by for lunch with Dan's family on our way to Yellowstone for a camping trip the beginning of July.

Dan finished off the one pound hamburger and got his picture taken for the wall of fame.

Yellowstone was a lot of fun! We really enjoyed the nature and seeing all the wildlife.

We got to be a "ma and pa" at our stake's youth conference. We did a service project for this lady one of the days of the conference. It was a really fun opportunity to work with some awesome youth.

One of our favorite activities of the summer was when we went to the demolition derby at the Salt Lake county fair. It was Dan's first time going to one, and he totally loved it. It was tons of fun. I'm sure we'll be back next year! For those of you who've never been to a demo derby, this clip will give you a little taste of what you've been missing out on.

We got to go to the Real Salt Lake soccer game this past weekend. I work with a guy who has a friend on the team, so we got some sweet tickets. It was my first MLS game and, being such a huge soccer fan, I totally loved it! RSL played the Houston Dynamo and the final score was 0-0. It was such an intense game, with so many missed scoring opportunities! Tons of fun.

So, that's a quick run down of the past month or so of our lives. Things are going really well for us and we're getting more excited all the time to welcome our baby to our family in October!
