Laurie's in the kitchen... making time machines?!

Laurie's been in the kitchen cookin' up some strange stuff. Ill hear occasional hammering and screwdriver...ing. She wouldn't tell me exactly what she was doing, just something about some plans... online... and something about a time machine. I got home from school today, and found the oven completely altered... a time machine... really? Well, yeah! More suprising? It worked. I didn't believe it either. She told me she'd been to the future and saw a couple of our kids... Ha! Right... Prove it! Then she pulled out the souvenier pictures:

Our little girl!

Our little boy!

She still hasn't explained this one...

And then there were three! (almost...)

That's right! Dan and I found out a while ago that we're expecting a baby. We're really excited for this new stage of our lives!
We told Dan's family at Sunday dinner a few weeks ago. Since Melodie had announced her pregnancy several weeks before and Lydia had announced hers that same day, it took a while for people to realize we were serious. But once they believed us, it was fun to share in their excitement. We told my family last weekend. My family all got together to go to my brother's choir concert and Dan and I wore the new shirts Dan made for us. (see picture below) It was fun to see how surprised every one was. My 11 year-old neice Sadie just stared at us with an open jaw for about 30 seconds. It was pretty funny.

Our due date is October 27. The first trimester feels like it's taking forever, though there's only about 3 weeks left. I haven't been too sick, though I get nauseous and queasy pathetically easy. I feel tired ALL the time. It's true. Just ask Dan. He's been very patient about me wanting to go to bed around 7:45 each night!

So, other than being dead tired and the inevitable fight against nausea, things are going great. We've been reading a lot in the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and it's been so fun to see the weekly changes the baby goes through!
