Birthday Fun!

Well, I know the anticipation has been killing you... what did they do for his birthday?!  We went shooting!  It was uber fun, and the first time Laurie had shot a 9mm.  Here's us being amazing... Look how many times we hit the silhouette dude!  He's gotta be a gonner by now!  Thanks, Laurie, for an awesome birthday date!

Happy Birthday Dan!

Today is Dan's birthday. I love birthdays. I think it's brilliant that we all get one day a year when we get gifts, we get cake & ice cream, and other people are supposed to be overly kind to us. Last year for Dan's birthday, I threw him a surprise party and made a bunch of ice cream cakes. It was a lot of fun. This year I wanted to do something special too, but now that we live a little further away from all his friends, I thought a party might not be the best idea. So, this morning he opened his presents, tonight I'm making him one of his favorite dinners, and then we're dropping Hyrum off at my sister's and I'm taking him out on a special date. He's gonna love it! (I can't say what it is yet, in case he checks the blog before we go out...I've kept it a secret this long...)

Dan is a great guy, wonderful husband, and awesome father. I hope he has a great day! I love you Dan!

Oh, also, Hyrum is 8 months old today. Time flies!

Fun Stuff and Recent Happenings

We've been having a great time lately! We splurged a little (Dan got tech-hungry) and got a nice DSLR Camera. Some of the pictures below were taken with that camera, and some with our old camera... we had to hang on to the old one.... easier for trips, y'know. Well, rather than write a lot, this is going to end up being more of a picture post with some comments strewn about. What do ya think?

Hyrum "discovering" grass... not a big fan...

We got ourselves a lawnmower... my wife!  Ha!  No, so you should have seen the grass before we first cut it, it was really a jungle. 

Around that time we also planted a garden.  This plot has beans, peas, carrots, cilantro... maybe something else... we forget (to find out what it was, check out our blog post in 3 months).  In the other plot, we have corn sprouting and pumpkins.  Nifty!  We're so green!

Our AWESOME trip to Disneyland!  It was so much fun.  It was Laurie's first time, and it might as well have been my first time since all I remember from the last trip is part of Peter Pan, and being unable to figure out how in the world we were flying.  (I figured it out this time...)

Laurie claims this as her first Peanut Butter and Jelly sandwich IN HER LIFE!  So, Disney and PB&J... could it get any better?

Awww!

In front of the Hollywood sign.  It was sweet!  We saw names of stars on the Walk of Fame, like "Queen" and "Journey"... rock on!

So, I know it's been ages since I posted, but I'll be more consistent... I promise.  Too many cool things happening, I guess!
