We told Dan's family at Sunday dinner a few weeks ago. Since Melodie had announced her pregnancy several weeks before and Lydia had announced hers that same day, it took a while for people to realize we were serious. But once they believed us, it was fun to share in their excitement. We told my family last weekend. My family all got together to go to my brother's choir concert and Dan and I wore the new shirts Dan made for us. (see picture below) It was fun to see how surprised every one was. My 11 year-old neice Sadie just stared at us with an open jaw for about 30 seconds. It was pretty funny.
Our due date is October 27. The first trimester feels like it's taking forever, though there's only about 3 weeks left. I haven't been too sick, though I get nauseous and queasy pathetically easy. I feel tired ALL the time. It's true. Just ask Dan. He's been very patient about me wanting to go to bed around 7:45 each night!
So, other than being dead tired and the inevitable fight against nausea, things are going great. We've been reading a lot in the book "What to Expect When You're Expecting" and it's been so fun to see the weekly changes the baby goes through!
YEAH!!! I've been watching for this post--I love how direct it is!!
